Info-session PhiloDocs-Board

At the end of April/beginning of May, the Doctoral Students' General Assembly of the Faculty of Philology and Philosophy will take place again, at which a new Doctoral Board will be elected. As some of us will soon be completing their doctoral theses and will therefore be leaving the board, we are urgently looking for new board members!

If you would like to find out what the board does without obligation, please join us on 19 March 2024 at 10 a.m. for a (short) digital meeting via Zoom (see below): We will introduce ourselves and our work and answer your questions. If you can't be there, you can of course also send us questions by e-mail.

We would be very pleased about your interest, even if you are not yet sure whether you would like to stand as a candidate.

New FAQ document

On the website of the examination office you can now find a document with common questions surrounding a PhD. We have been working on this document for a long time and are pleased that it can now finally be published. If you have any questions that are not answered by this document please don't hesitate to reach out to us at any time.

PhD advisors at the institutes

Since 2022, every institute and seminar at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Philology is supposed to name a "PhD advisor". This person will offer counselling for people interested in pursuing a PhD in this subject, but can also be contacted by current PhD students at the specific department.

Since the university does currently not provide an overview of the PhD advisors at each department, we compiled a list for you. It can also be found under "Documents and Links".

Please not that this list will not be continually updated, since it is within the responsibility of the university to provide an up-to-date overview of these advisors.

If you are unsure who to talk to, you are always welcome to reach out to us via email
