The Board of Representatives

According to the general assembly bylaws, the elected board advocates on behalf of doctoral candidates from the faculties of philology and philosophy in other representative bodies. As the board of representatives, we act as a communicative link between doctoral candidates and other university bodies and in this role draw attention to doctoral candidates’ interests at faculty and university levels. Furthermore, we seek to connect doctoral candidates between the two faculties and network among the representatives and boards from other faculties’ general assembly of doctoral candidates.

We serve as a first contact when it comes to questions regarding doctoral studies and when necessary, we can help you get in touch with other contacts to have your questions answered.

We can support you with the following topics and concerns:

  • Change of supervisor
  • Problems with the examination office
  • Difficult supervision situation
  • University-internal political matters
  • Questions on financing a PhD
  • Applying for an extension of submission deadline
  • Networking between PhD students
  • Organisational questions, e.g. PhD admission, PhD submission.
